About Us
The Second Sex Club (SSC) is a student-run organization at the University of Toronto dedicated to cultivating a feminist community on campus. Through publishing feminist writing, hosting open discussions, and volunteering with local women's shelters, we challenge the structures that uphold female oppression and build solidarity through action. We're here to create change on campus and beyond. Membership is open year-round for all UofT students.

Submissions
The Second Sex Club explores the issues that shape women’s lives by publishing student writing. We welcome submissions on topics such as gender, pop culture, sexuality, and literature to share with our feminist community.
Submissions are accepted year-round from UofT students across all campuses, programs, and years. Click below to see our criteria and learn how to share your work.
Volunteering
We believe feminism isn’t just words – it involves action. This is why each month SSC members volunteer with Sistering, a multi-service agency that provides free meals, clothing, and health services to women and gender-diverse folks seeking support.
