Initiatives

A core aspect of the Second Sex Club’s mission is ensuring our feminism isn’t confined to discourse and theory. We believe it is essential to actively forge a community of women on campus and to support women facing adverse circumstances. Through hosting an array of campus events and volunteering initiatives, we hope to enact meaningful change in women’s spaces.

Each month, members of the Second Sex Club volunteer to prepare meals, organize donations, and create harm reduction kits with Sistering, a drop-in shelter near Ossington Station. 

 

The form to sign up is emailed to members each month. Volunteers are selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our Events On Campus

The Second Sex Club hosts a variety of events on campus with the intention of connecting female studens and fostering feminist dialogue. Our events range from debates on feminist subjects to film screenings. Follow us on Instagram to stay updated on our upcoming events!

Menstruation Drive

In the 2025 to 2026 school year, we hosted a Menstruation Drive on UTSG. After around four months, we collected over 700 period product donations! All products were donated to Period Purse, a Canadian charity whose mission is providing access to period products.

 

This menstruation drive is in collaboration with the UofT chapter of Women In International Security Canada (WIISC).
