Initiatives

A core aspect of the Second Sex Club’s mission is ensuring our feminism isn’t confined to discourse and theory. We believe it is essential to actively forge a community of women on campus and to support women facing adverse circumstances. Through hosting an array of campus events and volunteering initiatives, we hope to enact meaningful change in women’s spaces.

Each month, members of the Second Sex Club volunteer to prepare meals, organize donations, and create harm reduction kits with Sistering, a drop-in shelter near Ossington Station.

The form to sign up is emailed to members each month. Volunteers are selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

Campus
Menstruation Drive

This school year, we're collecting period product donations around UTSG! If you have spare feminine hygiene products (e.g. pads or tampons), please leave them in the donation boxes we've placed around campus. We'll be collecting products until March 1st, 2026!

This menstruation drive is in collaboration with the UofT chapter of Women In International Security Canada (WIISC).

All products will be donated to Period Purse, a Canadian charity whose mission is providing access to period products!
